I'm one year old!

Happy birthday to me! I'm one year old. Mom says I'm getting big so fast. Last year I was just a tiny new baby who ate and slept. Now I walk around and babble and play.
I helped Mom get ready for my party during the day. I took good naps because Mom knew I would be all wound up from partying. She was right; I'm fussing a bit for Daddy right now. After my nap and my dinner all my family started to show up. Uncle Rich came a little early since he was working near our house. He is starting a new business and has to work very hard. He played with me and relaxed on the couch. Mommy and Daddy appreciated it because they could get some last minute stuff done.
Then all my Grandmas and Grandpas and my Great Grandmas came. So did Uncle Nate and Aunt Ellen with Allison and Andrew and my Great Uncle Randy and Great Aunt Gloria! I was a little scared when everyone came and had to be by my Mommy. After a while I got used to it and let other people hold me.
We had a big birthday dinner! Grandma made the salad, Daddy grilled steaks and Mommy made the vegetables. She was frustrated because the baked potatoes didn't bake but some time in the microwave fixed it. I got veggie bits but no steak. I need to get some teeth soon so I can get in on that good food!
After dinner I opened my presents. I got so many fun toys! Ally helped me open all the bright packages. I liked the colorful paper in Grandma's present. I bounced to the musical snail Uncle Rich got me and hugged the stuffed bears Great Grandma Z brought me.
After all that, it was time for cake! Everyone sang to me and there was one candle on my cake. Mommy helped me blow it out. Then I got a piece! My very own piece of cake to eat! I had fun demolishing it. It was yummy! Thank you to Aunt Ellen who brought it for me.
After eating we all visited. I played with my toys. Ally wanted to see Ozzy so Uncle Rich and Uncle Nate went downstairs to hunt him down. They found him and scared him so much he ran upstairs and leaped the gate in a singe hop! At least everyone got to see a streak of gray fur running through the living room.
When everyone went home Mommy snuggled me, changed me into my pjs and gave me a bedtime snack. But I was so wound up I had a hard time finding my sleep. Daddy helped me settle down. I think I'll sleep well tonight! That is what tired big girls do.
