Snowy day!

Guess what? When I woke up this morning there was snow on the ground. I don't really remember this from last year. Daddy says he took me out to touch snow last year but I was too little to appreciate it. Today Mommy bundled me up in my snow pants and coat, hat, mittens and boots and we went out to play in the snow! It was a long process getting me into everything and it was a little hard to walk with it all on. I fell down in the snow a few times before I figured it out. Snow is cold! Mommy showed me how to throw a snowball but all I can do is fluff the snow with my hands. I walked over to check out the reindeer in the DeWitt's yard. It was windy so I got chilly pretty soon and Mom had to take me inside and unbundle. I had fun, though! I squealed and pointed out the window once I was back inside.
My day had its ups and downs because of my teeth. But mostly I had fun. We read "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" many many times. I point to the dog and the baby. I turn the pages one by one and tell the story to Mom in my own language.
We listened to Christmas music on the radio and Mommy taught me how to dance like a Rockette. I kick my feet in the air! It made me laugh and giggle. I'm not quite as coordinated as a Rockette but I can smile just as big!
When Daddy came home I was so excited. I yelled "Daddy!" and ran to him. I made him sit down and read to me while Mom made dinner. When we sat down to eat, I folded my hands before we prayed! I'm learning to do that. I liked my applesauce and potatoes. Ozzzy wanted some too, so I dropped a bit for him. He's learning to hang out under my seat at lunch and dinner time. He got some chicken bits at lunchtime.
I got tired a little early tonight, so Daddy snuggled me under my warm blanket a little early. I had a very busy day! I think I'll sleep well until the morning.

Christmas trees and trains!

I had such a fun Saturday! I woke up and played with Daddy to start out. Then we all got ready to go away! We went to the Meijer Gardens to see the trees. Grandpa and Grandma met us there! I was so excited to see them. Grandma picked me up right out of my stroller so I could see the shiny, sparkly trees. They were much bigger than my tree at home and they were all decorated from ornaments from different countries. In the picture, Mommy and I are looking at the Korea tree. It had lots of bright colors. I liked those. I liked the big Germany tree at the entrance. Daddy found the pickle ornament so he gets the first present at Christmas time. Grandma liked the Iceland tree because it had red balls and snowflakes just like hers.
Besides all the trees, there were trains! I saw the train first and Mom and Dad had to find out what I was pointing at. The trains went round and round on their tracks. There were two tracks, one up high and one down near the ground. I had fun running along the lower one. I made train noises; "choo, whoo...." I kept making train noises even when we got home.
We went into the tropical garden where Mom and Grandma let me run around a bit. I saw little birds that chirped! How exciting! I pointed at everything and babbled. There were lights and big ornaments on the big tropical trees. Then we went to the desert garden where I pointed at cacti and meerkats. Ally told me about those! They made me laugh.
I was so worn out after all that. I cried when Grandma and Grandpa went to their car and I had to get into my seat. But I munched my lunch on the way home and made train noises. When we got home I took a very short nap. My teeth woke me up. I played around until I fell asleep on Daddy's lap. He's a good cuddler.
When I woke up from my nap, it was snowing. Brrrrr. It looks very cold, but I'm inside running around and playing by my tree. I had a very yummy dinner and now Mom can smell that it's time for a bath and new diaper. I'll get warm and snuggly in my new bigger pajamas, eat my bedtime snack, get my Tylenol and snuggle in for the night. What a fun day!

New tooth!

That's the news for the day! I have a new tooth! Daddy found it when he was feeding me my applesauce and I gave him a big grin. It's way back in my mouth on the left side. It's number five! And there are more on the way.
I had a very happy day today. I woke up chattering to Mommy and Ozzy. Mom got me all pretty and dressed up in my Christmas dress to get my pictures taken. I smiled so nice and took pretty pictures. Mom can pick them up next week.
It was very windy outside today. When Mom got my stroller out at WalMart it blew all the way to the road! A nice man chased it down for us so Mom didn't have to run carrying me. I thought it was very funny. It was too cold to play outside for very long but we did stick our heads out for a few minutes in the afternoon.
I took a good nap in the afternoon and when I woke up Grandma was at my house! I smiled and ran to her. It was a nice surprise. She had an appointment in Zeeland and was very close to our house. She helped Mom put up decorations and clean the house a little. Tired Mommy appreciated it.
After dinner I still had to be goofy. I got the Cheerios out of the pantry and threw them around. Dad took some video and Mom figured out how to blog it. So you can watch it right from here!
After all that I needed my sleep. I fussed a little and didn't want my diaper changed. But Mom and Dad won out and now I'm snoozing with my sleepytime blanket.

Cheerios!

I like Cheerios! They are just as much fun to play with as they are to eat.

Happy baby is back!

I've been keeping Mom so busy she hasn't had time to blog! We've been having so much fun. I learn new things every day and keep Mom and Dad busy and amused.
Yesterday was Thanksgiving and I had a great day! We went to church in the morning. I went to nursery and read lots of books. I read some to the other kids. Maybe I will be a librarian like Grandma.
After church we went to Uncle Vern and Aunt Mary's house for lunch. There were lots of kids there for me to play with. Allison and Andrew were there and so were Buckrey and Grady. I had fun following Buckrey around and playing with his toys. We ate a big lunch. I had ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, applesauce and chocolate milk! And for dessert I had some bites of pie. It was really good. After lunch Grandpa and Daddy took me and Allison out to see the cows. They were loud and I was a little scared. I hung on to Dad. I played through the afternoon and watched some football with Dad. Then I was so tired I had to go home and take a good nap.
Today Mom and Dad were both home with me! I got up early but Mom convinced me to snuggle in bed for a while. I rested until Ozzy came to join us. Then I got up and petted him. After we all ate and got ready we went shopping. We got a Christmas tree! I was a little skeptical at first. I would walk up to the tree and then back away and run to Mommy. But it is so pretty and sparkly! I helped Mom put the ornaments on. Then I discovered how much fun it is to take the shiny ornaments off the tree. Now the tree only has ornaments where I can't reach them. I still like to sit and look at the lights. I said "pretty" and pointed at them.
After my busy day I was very tired and Daddy tucked me into bed. I'll sleep well so I can play again tomorrow!

Day at the park

It's me! I'm back to blogging. Mommy hasn't been feeling very well so she's been slacking. I pat her back and say "Mama, mama" That means its OK, Mommy.
I've been feeling very good and playful. Dad took good care of me on the weekend so Mom could rest a little. We watched football and read lots of books. On Sunday we went to second Sunday coffee at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I said hi to all my family. We had a birthday party for Uncle Rich. He is 28 years old! Ally told me that. I know what birthdays are now. When Mom brought out the cake and Aunt Ellen brought out the presents I clapped my hands and squealed. We sang to Uncle Rich and then we had cake. Yum!
Today was so nice and warm that I could go to the park! Mom bundled me up in my nice warm sweater that Uncle Bob and Aunt Pam gave me last Christmas. It's just right for playing outside. I rode the purple dinosaur and I slid down the curvy slide and the twirly slide. We saw Daddy drive past on his way home from work. We jumped and waved our arms but he didn't see us so we hurried home to see him.
After my dinner, Grandpa came! I was so excited I gave him a big hug. He is visiting from New Jersey for a couple days. He brought me some new books! We sat right down and read them.
I've had my bath already and I'm just playing with Grandpa. Soon it will be bedtime. I get put to bed at 8:30 even if I fuss in my crib a little. Usually I squeak a little and then I snooze until the morning. Tomorrow I will go to Aunt Ellen's house and play with Ally! I'm very excited. See you soon, Al-Bear!

Being a big girl

I'm learning to do so many big girl things! Today I ate my applesauce with a spoon all by myself. Mom bought chunky applesauce so I make a little less mess. I batted her hand away when she tried to help me. Another thing I'm learning is to put my arms into my clothes when Mom gets me dressed. I know how to "reach for the sky!"
Yesterday I had so much fun because I got to go to Ally's house and play while Mom worked. Aunt Ellen said I was pretty good. Ally and Andrew and I all took turns napping.
Today I started up early and I had fun all morning long. I was outside for just a few minutes because it is so cold! I watched birds at the feeder and shrieked at leaves falling off the tree in the backyard. I can see a lot from my window.
I took a good long nap and then snuggled Mom for a while after I woke up. When Dad came home I gave him a big hug! I polished off my dinner and then we went to Target. I got slippers to wear in the house. They are pink and fluffy. I clump around the house in them and they keep my toes warm!
When we got home I got a Skype call from Grandpa! We can see each other on the computer and talk to each other. Daddy puts the camera on the computer and the video goes through the internet. Isn't that cool? I bet Grandma will be jealous that Grandpa got to see me and talk to me.
Then it was time for bedtime snack and bedtime routine. I don't like bedtime anymore. I resist my bed! I'm squawking a little in my crib right now but Mom and Dad know I'm tired and I'll go to sleep soon. I just can't fool them. Good night!

Feeling better!

Yay! Mom's happy baby is back...mostly. I'm cutting another new tooth today and it hurts. Its my second front tooth. At least my sneezes are much improved. No more slimings!
I got up early today and hung out with Dad while he got ready for work. He handed me off to Mom and my day was ready to go! I ate my big breakfast and got out the books. We read and read. It was too cold and windy to go outside but I sat by the window and watched the birds by the feeder for a little while.
I took big long naps today. My cold wore me out. I spent a lot of the day eating or sleeping. Mom made mashed potatoes for dinner. I love those! I was mad that I had to wait for them to cool off before I could dig in. Mom tried mixing in some peas but I was on to her. I ate the potatoes and spit the peas.
After dinner I played with Dad and then I tried out the computer! See me typing? I banged at the keys and moved the mouse. If you are signed in to YouTube you can see the video. If you are not one of Mom's contacts, send her an email and she'll get you set up. It's very cute!
Soon I could not keep my eyes open. I tried to play but was sad and weepy. I got Tylenol and my bottle and headed to bed. I'm listening to the wind and sleet but I'm warm and snuggled with my blanket and baby bear. Good night!

See me typing!

Science Night!

What a fun Saturday I had! I got up with Dad and read stacks and stacks of books. We let Mom sleep in until she wanted to get up. Dad fed me my big breakfast and we had fun!
I am still a little sneezy and fussy sometimes. I just keep sneezing up slimy stuff. I needed cuddles when I was feeling congested. I took a good nap and was pretty happy for the afternoon. I helped Mom and Dad rake up the rest of the leaves. There are still a whole lot of them on the trees, though! I like running around in leaves. Do you think that snow will be just as much fun?
After all that fun we went to Science Night! This is when Daddy's engineer friends all get together and make "experiments". Daddy build a trebuchet (a medieval military catapult) that flung tennis balls. All the kids thought that was the coolest toy. The picture shows Daddy with his potato gun. He made it a couple science nights ago. We went down by Lake Macatawa to shoot it off. Mom and Dad's friends Emil and Sarah live near there and Science Night was at their house. We contacted a satellite, made strobe lights and lasers move to music, made spinning lasers, made hydrogen and oxygen by electrolysis, fried sparkly things in a microwave, let off a baking soda volcano, looked at things under black lights and fog and of course, we made a pickle glow. Glowing pickle was the main attraction at the very first Science Night.
I had lots of fun. You can see that there was lots to see. There were other babies there to talk to and play with. Our Moms thought that we should get a certificate that said "Baby's First Science Night." Do you think that our Dads want us to grow up to be engineers? The baking soda volcano was a project from some of the kids. Their Dad was proud!
When I got home I was all wound up! I had a fun bath with my frogs and boats. I splashed and giggled. I know how to point to my ears and my tummy and my toes. I scrub my own face with the washcloth. I'm learning to do so much by myself! I used my own spoon to eat my applesauce today and wouldn't let Mom help at all.
After bath we read some more books and got all ready for bed. I was all snuggled in when Mom heard a big toot from upstairs. It was a big stinky! I stayed up for a while after Mom cleaned me up but soon I was just to tired. Now I'm snoozing and Dad says I get one extra hour of sleep tonight. Ha ha...I think that I'll just wake up earlier. Good night!

Hugging Mommy all day long

I needed to be by my Mommy today. My teeth hurt and I was sneezy. I even sneezed right into Mommy's face once. I slimed her. She just wiped it off and kept hugging me. Wow, moms are tough! Dad was grossed out.
I woke up early because I was congested and sneezing. After the Tylenol kicked in I had an OK morning. Mom read lots of books to me. I bring them to her and sit down on her lap and snuggle in. I like to point at the kitty in "Find the Kitten" and open the flaps in "Where's Spot?" We read and cuddled most of the morning.
I took a good afternoon nap and was a little more cheery in the afternoon. I played with my ball and my car. I helped Mom make a pie. She let me mix the dry ingredients. She measured them and let me dump them in the bowl and mix them with a spoon. She did have to help hold things so I wouldn't spill. The pie turned out very yummy and I am very proud of myself. Mom wishes she had four hands so she could have taken a picture of me learning to bake.
When Dad got home he took over the book reading until dinner time. Mom appreciated the break. After dinner I started rubbing my eyes and whining so Mom got me all ready for bed. I needed a little cuddling from Daddy and some Tylenol but now I'm snoozing. I hope I feel better tomorrow!

Trick or treat!

I was a busy bug today! I woke up early and hung out with Dad so Mom could have a little more sleep in the morning. I was up at 6:15! I was a little fussy during my morning playtime. One of my front teeth popped out today!
Yesterday was a fun day. I went to Grandma's house and played outside with Allison! We ran through the leaves and played with balls. We drew on the basketball court with chalk. I was worn out when I got home! I was pretty dirty, too. Mom gave me a bath before my early bed time. I love playing with my boats and splashing.
Today was a very exciting day! I got all dressed up in my ladybug costume and went to Daddy's work. I was a little scared at first but after Dad and I sat in his office for a few minutes I was ready to trick or treat! I took my big pumpkin and filled it with candy. I learned very fast how to pick my piece of candy and put it in the bucket. There were so many kids there! I laughed and ran around.
After all that fun we went to Grandpa and Grandma's house so they could see how cute I was. I got a candy bar and Mom let me have a piece of a Three Musketeers and some Junior Mints. I smelled minty after I got those on my fingers. I licked my fingers to get all the taste. I played with the toys there for a little while until it was time to go home for dinner and trick or treaters.
Dad took me across the street to show my costume to the neighbors while Mom got my dinner ready. It started to rain so we waited by the Wabeke's until we could get across the street without getting soaked. A pretty rainbow came out while I was eating.
I ran around to play for a little while after dinner. I played with my wooden car. I drive it around the dining room and make car noises. Vroom, vroom! Mom and Dad laugh at my silly noises. I don't know why since they showed me how to do it. I like to imitate what Mom and Dad do.
But soon I could not stay awake any longer. Daddy snuggled me into bed. I think that Mom and Dad might eat some of my candy while I sleep. I think I'll let them. All that sugar would be bad for me and some candy is not safe for a girl with only three teeth!

I raked leaves!

It was a sunny, breezy fall day today. After my morning nap and my lunch Mom and I went out to rake the leaves. I like being outside! Mom put my sweatshirt and hat on and let me run around. I chased the leaves when the wind blew them off the trees. I ran up and down the sidewalk. Mom watched me close to make sure I didn't go by the street! Mr. DeGraaf was mowing his leaves up and I ran over to watch. I waved and smiled and showed how I can rake too! I picked up a rake and waved it at the leaves. It was a little too big for me to use the right way, but I tried!
I got a little fussy through the afternoon. I have a new tooth that is starting to poke through. I don't like it. I don't eat as much and I chew on things a lot. I just wanted Mom to hold me and read books to me all afternoon. When we got the mail, I got to open a card from Grandma and Grandpa! I waved it around and then let Mom read it to me.
Mom gave me Tylenol and made all my food very soft for me. I couldn't find my sleep for afternoon nap, so after my dinner and a little bit of silly time with Dad I was ready for bed. I did have fun being silly, though! I like to poke Daddy in the belly button. He laughs and I tickle his tummy. Then he gives me zerberts on my tummy! I can't figure out how to do that so I just blow raspberries in the air back at him. Playing with Daddy is one of my favorite things to do.

Rainy day

Today was a rainy day. I had to stay inside and play with Mom and Dad. Mommy got to stay home with me and be on call for work. I was so excited to play with both Mom and Dad!
I slept in a little bit and woke up squeaking for my Mom. She fed me a good breakfast and I got my day started! I took just one long nap in the middle of the day and spent the rest of the time scattering toys all over the house. Mom picks them up when I go down to nap. Dad doesn't understand why since I redo the mess right away when I get up. Mom says a clean floor is more relaxing.
Today Daddy carved my pumpkin. You can see the picture on Flickr. It was goopy and messy! Mommy roasted the seeds for Dad but they wouldn't let me have any. I don't know what choking is but they seem to worry about it a lot! My pumpkin has two and a half teeth just like I do! Daddy gave it my smile.
By night time I was wearing out. My teeth were bugging me and I was ready for bed. Daddy snuggled me in and now I'm snoozing! Good night!

Playing all day!

Today Mom and I stayed home and played. Mom was on call but she didn't have to work! I was a little fussy because I'm teething and I have a nasty diaper rash. It's itchy! I get my diaper changed a lot and get smeared with Desitin. It's getting a little better. Tylenol helps, too.
I took good naps today in between my giggly fun. Mom taught me how to be a baseball ump - is he safe or out? I like the motions she does. It makes me laugh out loud! I ate a good breakfast and lunch but was not so into dinner. My mouth was bugging me. I drank my sippy up but just picked at my chicken and beans.
After dinner we went shopping. We found a costume for me! I'm going to be a ladybug when I go visit Daddy at work on Wednesday. We stopped at Grandpa and Grandma's house on the way home to try it on. Everyone thought it was very cute. I love playing at Grandma's and pulling out all the toys. I got to wear my Elmo slippers again and rock in Grandma's rocking chair. It was hers since she was my age! Dad and Grandpa had fun playing peekaboo with two blankets and watching me run around.
Finally I was so tired I could hardly keep my eyes open. I tried so hard! I didn't want to leave! I didn't want to be strapped into my seat. But when I got home I ate my bottle and cuddled my blankie and got drowsy very soon. Now I'm snuggled in!

Chatty baby

I was very talkative today! I squeaked and squealed, babbled and giggled. I made noise all day long! See me learning to use Mom's phone?
I got an early start today and played hard all morning. I like to read my books and play with my musical toys. I know how to push buttons now to make the sounds play. It's fascinating!
After my big lunch I took a big nap. Grandma and Grandpa stopped by to visit but I was sound asleep. Grandma thought that my little toes peeping out from my blanket were very cute.
When I woke up I ran around outside for a little while to wave sticks and pick up leaves. It's getting colder outside so we didn't stay out very long. I was silly with Mommy until Daddy got home and then I chased him around while Mom got my dinner ready. I had applesauce and carrots. Yum!
Daddy had a meeting tonight so Mom and I played for just a little while until I started rubbing my eyes. Mom made me a good bottle and snuggled and sang to me until I was good and relaxed. Now I'm asleep and resting up for tomorrow!

Picture day!

I got my pictures taken today! I was very curious about everything there. I was not very smiley and didn't really feel like posing but Mom still got some cute pictures. Grandmas and Grandpas can check their email and see how they turned out! I will send some out to NJ as soon as I can.
After picture time Mom and Grandma shopped a little while I relaxed in my stroller. Then we went to Grandma's house and I played with all her toys! I tried on my Elmo slippers. Grandma bought a pair my size and a pair Ally's size. I walked around and pointed at my toes! They had big Elmo eyes on them! Then I sat down and dug through the toy box. I opened the picnic basket and found some goldfish that Ally had left behind. Yum! I was very excited.
I gave my first kisses today, too. I gave Grandma a hug and some kisses to go with it. I gave Mommy kisses tonight but I wouldn't give Daddy any. He is very jealous.
When we got home I was so hungry! Mom made meatloaf and potatoes for dinner. Dad and I raked leaves while she got everything ready. Daddy raked and I played in the pile. I yelled and had so much fun!
I ate lots of dinner! I eat my bits now and ignore silly baby food in jars. I love my mashed potatoes! I ate all my veggies and drank a whole sippy full of milk. I was ready to play when dinner was done but first Mom had to do a major wipe down on me.
After dinner I pushed my shopping cart around, chased my ball and read stories. Mom and Dad were playing with the soft Frisbee inside! Should they be doing that? I thought it was very funny. I played hard until it was time for bed. Daddy fed me my bottle and snuggled me in with baby bear. What a fun, busy day I had!

Good hair day

Can you see my pretty hair bow? It didn't show up so well in the picture. But I look so grown up with a clip in my hair. It helps keep my hair out of my face. This one is sparkly and pink. Daddy says it is very girly. Mommy got her hair cut today and Daddy thinks she looks very nice too.
I had a very fun day today. I got up right on time after a good long nights sleep. After my breakfast we went to play with Paul and his mom. Paul's dad used to work with Daddy and his mom and dad are friends with Mom and Dad. Paul is just a little bit older than I am. We went to the park and swung on the swings and slid down the slides. The weather was nice in the morning but it got colder at night.
I took a little nap and ate a big lunch before Mom and I went for a walk. We walked to KMart and back. Mom bought my hair bows there and we looked at their clearance stuff. When I got home I played with the girls next door until I really needed my nap. I took a short afternoon nap and then read books with Mommy until Dad got home.
After dinner Mom left to get her hair cut so Dad and I took another trip to the park! I ran through leaves and waved sticks. I slid down the twirly slide!
Now Mom has me all ready for bed and Dad is giving me my bedtime snack. I'm rubbing my eyes and fussing a little. It's almost time for bed!

My first artwork!

I'm learning to make pictures! Mommy got me some crayons at Target today. They are big ones that I can grab. I made green scribbles with Daddy. He is worried because I grab my crayons with my right hand, though. Tomorrow Dad and I are going to work on a multicolored masterpiece. Daddy will hang it on the fridge!
I had an up and down day today. My shots and teeth still bug me sometimes. I was happy mostly but fussy at times. I didn't take much of a nap in the morning. I just hugged baby bear and relaxed a little.
At lunch I went out for lunch with Mommy and her friend Sandy. They went to nursing school together. Sandy was working way out in California! But now she is back in Michigan to work and go to school. We went to Panera Bread. I got banana, cheese, milk and bread for my lunch. I enjoyed it very much.
After lunch we went to visit Grandpa and Grandma. They both had vacation days. Aunt Ellen was there with Ally and Andrew, too. I had fun looking at the animal cards. Ally tried to teach me to say "striped bandicoot". That is a funny looking animal! She shared some bites of ice cream sandwich, too.
I needed a nap so bad and by the time we got home I was sound asleep. Mommy snuggled me in my warm crib while the wind and sleet blew around outside.
When Dad got home we went to Target. I got diapers, sippys, clothes and my crayons! It was very cold and rainy. I was glad to get back to my warm house.
Mommy has me all ready for bed and Daddy is reading me my animal books. I'm reading Where's Spot? to him. I like the monkey in the closet and the penguins in the box.
One more thing so my Grandmas and Grandpas don't worry about me...my blood work came back just fine. I'm a healthy kid! I just need to get these teeth out and get over my pokes. Mom is very relieved. I bet you all are too!

Ouches!

Look at all my bandaids! I got six shots today. Yes, it was checkup day for Sara. I am a peanut girl, I weigh 18 pounds and 11 ounces. I am 29.5 inches tall! The doctor said I am a happy healthy girl, except that my hemoglobin was a little low. So after all those shots I had to go get blood drawn at the hospital. I was very brave all day long. The girl drawing blood did a very good job and I don't even have a bruise. I hugged Mommy when it was all over and then I was OK. I was even better when we walked outside. One of the pet therapy dogs was coming in and I got to pet her! I stopped sniffling right away when I saw her. I said "doggie!" Her owner brought her over and she licked my fingers and I gave her a hug. She had a sparkly collar that I admired.
After all that poking we went to visit Great Grandma. Grandma was there and so was Aunt Ellen with Ally and Andrew. Allison and I had fun playing. I found Great Grandma's phone and pretended to talk to Ally. Andrew was very good and very cute. He is getting to be such a big baby!
I was hungry when I got home! I drank my bottle gone and ate a jar of vegetable beef dinner (it has iron in it!) Then I had chicken bits and water in my sippy while Mom and Dad ate. Ozzy begged for my bits and I dropped a couple just for him.
I was fussy after dinner so Daddy gave my Tylenol and Mommy nursed me and snuggled me. I am snuggling my blankie and my baby bear and sleeping away!

Want some!

See me beg? Mommy ate yogurt for lunch. Ozzy and I wanted some too! We were both leaning on Mommy's leg with our mouths open. Ozzy moved before Mom could get us both on one picture, though. We all like our yogurt! I got some spoonfuls and Ozzy got to lick the container. So we are all happy.
I had a good Monday today. I needed a quiet day after my busy weekend. My sleep schedule is a little mixed up so I am still up watching baseball with Daddy. I'm starting to slow down and cuddle my blankie though.
It was so warm outside today! Mom and I walked to the park where I rode the purple dinosaur toy and slid down the wavy slide. I still have to ride down the big slides with Mommy. I squealed and waved my arms! I fell asleep on the walk home but woke up to play with the neighbors for a while.
I think I need some snuggles now. Come get me, Mom! It's bedtime. Yawn!

Pretty dressed up girl

See my new dress? Aunt Ellen found it for me. I felt very pretty today. I had a little coat to match and a hat. I wore the hat just long enough for Mommy to see how cute it was but not long enough for her to get a picture. Mommy says I'm a little lady!
I wore my pretty dress to church. I played in the nursery in the morning and at night and I was very good! I didn't even cry much when Mom left me. I was reading stories to my nursery buddies.
Grandma and Grandpa were here all day today! I had fun hanging out with them. I cried a little when they left. I had so much fun playing with them.
I was a little sad all evening. I did not want to eat much and lately that means my teeth hurt. A little Tylenol made me feel more smiley. I played and read stories for a little while and then it was time to snuggle in. I only take one nap on some days now so I'm ready for bed a little earlier. I'm hugging my smallest bear and sleepytime blankie and am almost snoozing soundly. I think I'll sleep all night just like I have done all week long!

Pumpkin hunting

I had a fun day with Grandpa and Grandma today! I started it out by sleeping in until 8:45! I was so tired after my party last night. I ate my big bowl of cereal and then I played with my new toys. I like my Noah's ark and my three little bears. I sit on the floor and take the animals out and put them back in. I tried to put the bears in the boat but they are too big! They fit very well in my shopping cart, though.
After my nap we went downtown. We went to the toy store! Grandpa bought me some toy boats for my bathtub. Then we took a drive out to the beach. I saw dogs and ducks! I rode in the baby swing and looked out at the waves. Daddy swung next to me and went so high he jumped right out of the seat! I giggled at him.
After the beach we went to Veldheer's farm to pick a pumpkin out of their patch. See the nice one I found? Daddy will help me carve it and he will eat the seeds after Mommy roasts them. I liked playing with the pumpkin vines.
The farm had kitties! I herded them towards the barn. I started chasing them but I could not catch them. I ran and ran until they were all by the barn door looking for their mommy. She came over to make sure I was not picking on her kittens. Daddy picked me up and I waved bye bye to my kitty friends.
We went home and I ate my big dinner. After dinner Grandpa read me stories. I like how he reads to me! I giggled out loud when we looked for Spot. Where's Spot? I liked opening the flaps and looking for him.
I needed my bath after my busy day. I got to bring my boats in with me and had lots of fun playing with them. Grandpa read me one more story and then it was time for bed. I went right to sleep without a fuss even though Mom accidentally shut Ozzy in my closet and he mewed until she let him out.
Mom and Dad got to go out for coffee while Grandma and Grandpa kept an ear out for me. They had a good time! And I kept right on sleeping. What a good day for everyone!

I'm one year old!

Happy birthday to me! I'm one year old. Mom says I'm getting big so fast. Last year I was just a tiny new baby who ate and slept. Now I walk around and babble and play.
I helped Mom get ready for my party during the day. I took good naps because Mom knew I would be all wound up from partying. She was right; I'm fussing a bit for Daddy right now. After my nap and my dinner all my family started to show up. Uncle Rich came a little early since he was working near our house. He is starting a new business and has to work very hard. He played with me and relaxed on the couch. Mommy and Daddy appreciated it because they could get some last minute stuff done.
Then all my Grandmas and Grandpas and my Great Grandmas came. So did Uncle Nate and Aunt Ellen with Allison and Andrew and my Great Uncle Randy and Great Aunt Gloria! I was a little scared when everyone came and had to be by my Mommy. After a while I got used to it and let other people hold me.
We had a big birthday dinner! Grandma made the salad, Daddy grilled steaks and Mommy made the vegetables. She was frustrated because the baked potatoes didn't bake but some time in the microwave fixed it. I got veggie bits but no steak. I need to get some teeth soon so I can get in on that good food!
After dinner I opened my presents. I got so many fun toys! Ally helped me open all the bright packages. I liked the colorful paper in Grandma's present. I bounced to the musical snail Uncle Rich got me and hugged the stuffed bears Great Grandma Z brought me.
After all that, it was time for cake! Everyone sang to me and there was one candle on my cake. Mommy helped me blow it out. Then I got a piece! My very own piece of cake to eat! I had fun demolishing it. It was yummy! Thank you to Aunt Ellen who brought it for me.
After eating we all visited. I played with my toys. Ally wanted to see Ozzy so Uncle Rich and Uncle Nate went downstairs to hunt him down. They found him and scared him so much he ran upstairs and leaped the gate in a singe hop! At least everyone got to see a streak of gray fur running through the living room.
When everyone went home Mommy snuggled me, changed me into my pjs and gave me a bedtime snack. But I was so wound up I had a hard time finding my sleep. Daddy helped me settle down. I think I'll sleep well tonight! That is what tired big girls do.

Getting ready to party!

I think that Mommy and Daddy are planning something. The house is all clean, I'm all clean, there are presents by the fireplace and good food in the house. Is there going to be a party? I think so! Today Mom and I practiced blowing out candles and telling people that I am one.
I had a fun day even though my head was all scratched up. I tumbled down a couple stairs last night. I scared myself and Mommy. She hugged me and felt so bad. Don't worry, I'm doing just fine. I might have to wait a bit to get my pictures taken though.
Today I played with my friends Anika, Hayden and Tyler while Mommy visited with friends. We have fun playing. Hayden and I both get sad when we can't see our mommies. As long as they're around we like to play together.
Then we went to visit Grandpa at work! I was a little shy. I started to cry when I couldn't see Mom. But Grandpa let me eat some treats and introduced me to people. I smiled a little but I was hungry. I fell asleep on the drive home.
When we got home I gobbled down my bottle. Daddy came home for lunch and we played silly games until he had to go back to work and I had to have my nap. It was a good one!
For dinner I ate peas and cheese. Then we went to the grocery store to get the stuff Mom needs for dinner tomorrow. I always have fun in the grocery store. There's so much to look at! Mommy let me hold the paper towels. I did a good job.
It was bathtime when we got home. I really love my baths! When Mommy fills the tub and puts my frogs in I jump up and down and try to climb in all by myself. I can't quite make it in so I just hang over the edge until Mom tests the water and lets me in. We laugh and splash. I like to pretend to swim and to wave my washcloth.
After bath I was sleepy so Mom put my warm pajamas on and snuggled me to snoozing. I'll need my sleep because tomorrow will be a big day!

Busy day!

It was a very busy day today! I woke up right on time and Mommy got us all ready for the day. I went down for a morning nap and when I woke up Grandma and Great Grandma were at my house! I was so excited. Grandma was helping Mommy with house cleaning. She needs someone to watch me so I don't get into things while Mom is on a ladder or cleaning out the fridge.
Then guess who showed up? Aunt Ellen with Ally and Andrew. How much fun! I played and played. But there were so many people around and they were moving the furniture and confusing me. I got a little fussy. I needed my Mommy to hug me. I got better after I had a big long afternoon nap.
When I woke up from that, Daddy was home! We ate a yummy dinner and I got some bits! I like those better than spoon food. After dinner Daddy took me to the park and we slid down a twirly slide. I had fun but Daddy landed in a puddle. He didn't mind too much since I was so excited.
Now I'm in my bed and squirming a little. I'm just finding my comfy spot. Tomorrow I will go to Michelle's house while Mommy works and it will be one day closer to my birthday!

Summer is still here!

It was so warm today! I played outside as much as I could. I waved sticks and played with my big pink ball. I like to bounce it on the driveway. It's a little lopsided so it bounces all over and I chase it wherever it goes.
I slept so well last night! Maybe it was because of my fancy hairdo. See what Daddy did after my bath? We were being very silly.
I woke up happy and ready to go! I ate a lot today and took lots of naps. On Mondays I need to get back into my routines. I was playful when I was awake and snuggly when I was sleepy. Mom and I had lots of fun.
I got to pet the neighbors dog today and I showed Mr. DeWitt how old I am. I'm going to be one! The doggie wagged his tail and licked at me.
When Daddy got home we went out to the beach. It is very warm for and October day. Mommy remembers that it was snowing on the day I was born! Not today, though! I had fun running in the sand and waving at seagulls. Mommy took me by the channel and I saw ducks! I tried to say duck and kicked my feet like a duck. Daddy took some video of me so you can all see how I play at the beach.
Now I'm all clean and in my pjs. I got very sandy at the beach because I like to throw sand. I'm walking around checking things out. Soon I'll bring Daddy a story to read and we'll be ready for bed. What a fun day!

Happy weekend!

I had such a fun Saturday! I got to hang out with Mom and Dad on a nice warm sunny day. It's going to take a while for me to wind down tonight!
Yesterday I went to Michelle's house while Mommy worked. I was a good girl! Daddy says I was very cute when we got home. I love to play! I've also learned to give big hugs to Mom and Dad when they ask. They seem to ask a lot! I think they like it.
Today Dad and I let Mom sleep in a little while we played. I played with my letter blocks. I can stack one on top of the other! And I can knock them down, too. That's so much fun! Mommy makes tall towers that I can topple! Daddy spells words and makes math equations. Today he spelled "barf". I wonder what that means? Silly Dad.
When Mom woke up Daddy mowed the lawn. I watched him walk back and forth. I waved! Mommy and I went outside to sit in the sun and to play with the girls. We ran around and played with my golf balls. Makenzie let me hold her doll! Her doll is named Sara.
I took a little nap and then ate a big big lunch! After lunch Mom and Dad's friends Jay and Laura came to visit. I liked playing with them. I told how old I am going to be. I know how to hold up just one finger. I'm going to be one! We were very silly until I was just so sleepy! I took a good afternoon nap.
Now I'm running around in my diaper before my bath. I'm dancing to Lion King music and watching football with Daddy. Tomorrow we will go to church and then visit Great Grandma. I better get good sleep tonight.

Warm sunny day!

It was such a beautiful day today! I just wanted to go outside and bring my tiger with me. See how I give him hugs? I like to pick him up and walk around the house. Daddy won him at Michigan's Adventure this summer and he is my favorite bear.
I slept pretty well last night and slept in a little bit in the morning. I didn't take my morning nap, though! I was a little fussy and didn't want to eat so much. Mommy thinks that my teeth are probably bugging me. She gives me Tylenol and that makes it better.
In the morning we played in the backyard. I swung in the hammock and ran around in the grass. I sat by my picnic table for morning snack. Finally I needed to nap and I had a good long afternoon nap. After that nap I played outside with the girls next door. We waved sticks and ran up and down the sidewalk. Mommy let me walk down the sidewalk all by myself! I kept looking back to see if she was going to stop me. She chased me down when I got near the end of our yard.
I had green bean and peach bits for dinner. I didn't want any spoon food! Mommy looked hungry too, so I fed her some of my bits. She said mmmmm....thank you, Sara!
After dinner we went for a walk with Parker and his Mom. Dad drove past us when we were almost home. I cried when he drove away even though Mom said we were almost home. I cried until we got home and I could have a hug. I said "dada, dada!" when we got to the house.
After Mom and Dad's dinner we walked to Meijers and back. I was getting sleepy! So Daddy took me upstairs, gave me my sleepytime blankie and my pipe and settled me down to sleep. What a fun day!

New shoes!

I don't have a picture of my new shoes, but we went to Target to get me some. My feet are growing and growing! I only had one pair of tennis shoes that fit me. I got Sunday shoes and a pair of boots. Daddy says I will wear the boots when we make snowmen! They are size 5! What a big girl I am.
I had a good day today. I slept the whole night through and woke up hungry! I played with Parker in the morning and so I did not take much of a morning nap. I ran around with a sippy in my hand bouncing to Lion King music. I like "Hakuna Matata" and "Just Can't Wait to be King".
After lunch we went to church to get stuff ready for the kids tomorrow. I'm not going to hang out with the kids this year. There will be people to watch me in the nursery instead. I liked hanging out with my people, but this year I'm just to big and distracting. I don't just sit in my car seat anymore! I had fun playing with the CD player. I turned on the music and then opened it up to pull the CD out! I know what I'm doing because I watch Mommy at home! I'm a good imitator. I can brush my hair and talk on a phone and use the remote.
I was getting sleepy so we headed home for a good long afternoon nap. Ellie was sad that I couldn't come out to play. She was riding on her bike with no training wheels! But I was so tired. I waved at her and put my head down on Mom's shoulder. I napped for 3 hours! I think that Mom got a little nap in there, too.
When I woke up, Dad was home and it was dinner time! I got broccoli and chicken bits. Yum! Then we went on our Target adventure. I like riding in the cart and looking at things. I got my shoes and a big pack of wipes. I go through them so fast with all my messes!
When we got home I got a bath. I love to splash! Daddy can't believe how much I get into it but now he knows why Mom is just as wet as I am at the end of bath time. Mommy got my good smelling lotion on and wrestled me into my pjs. I don't like to be dressed! I like to run around bare bunned. But really, I was tired. I had bedtime snack and Daddy cuddled me just a little. Now I'm snoozing with my pipes and blankies.

Crazy baby!

I was so full of energy today! I played so hard and took just little naps. I had so much to do! I woke up early for Mom and ate a huge bowl of cereal. I chased Ozzy and tried to talk on the phone. I walked all around the house until Mommy convinced me that a nap would be good.
After nap, I ate a big lunch! Mommy was going to feed me sweet potatoes, but I wanted her yogurt. I pointed and said "Meh!" So I got some yogurt and sweet potatoes and peach bits. Then we listened to some music and I danced around the kitchen. When I calmed down a little I made Mom very happy by giving her a big hug. I do that now! I put my arms around Mommy, put my head on her shoulder and squeeze. She likes it.
We got all packed up and went to the library today. It was raining so we had to hurry inside so we wouldn't get soaked! I waved my hands in the raindrops. I like waving to people at the library. After the library we went to Meijers and said hi to the birds, fish and hamsters. I shrieked at the fish and startled all the parakeets. I watched a hamster run around on his wheel. I thought that was pretty funny. We picked up a few things Mom needed and headed home for a little afternoon nap before Daddy got home.
When I woke up it was dinner time. I did not want Mom to feed me. I wanted to feed myself! I ate green beans and bananas. Mom was cutting up the banana for me but I grabbed the whole thing and took a big bite. I made a squishy mess. But it was so good!
We went for a short walk after dinner. I like pointing at things. It gets dark when we walk now, so I can't see quite so well.
Now I'm running around. Mom and Dad are trying to get me to quiet down but I don't want to! I'm tackling pillows, hugging Ozzy, reading books and hauling shoes around the living room. Dad thinks I'm going to collapse into sleep soon. We'll see!

Days with Daddy

I'm a daddy's girl! I spent yesterday hanging out with Daddy. I woke him up early to get started! We were awake before Mommy even left for work. I fussed just a little when she left. I said "Ma ma ma!" I do that a little when Mom or Dad leave me. But just a little bit. I know they will always come to find me. I even get a little fussed when I have to stay in nursery.
I had a very good weekend. I'm still a little sneezy and fussy but I'm much happier than last week. Mom and Dad seem to enjoy me being a little more cuddly. It makes my teeth feel better! See me cuddled up with Daddy? Look at him grin!
On Saturday we went to the park. Daddy threw his discs around and then we played on the swings and the slide. I love playgrounds!
I had a laid back day today with lots of naps. Mommy worked in the afternoon and Dad and I cuddled. I needed some love for my nap. Then we sat out in the front yard and played with golf balls. I like to throw them around. When Mom got home we went for a little walk. Now I'm in my pajamas and getting ready for bed. I tried to get some of Daddy's pizza but I had to settle for graham crackers. Good night!

A day to play!

I had so much fun playing today! Daddy said the house looked like a hurricane hit it when he got home. I had toys all over! Mom caught my cold so she could not keep up with my playing. See me playing with my pail? I like to put toys in it and carry them around the house. Today I put bouncy balls in it and then tipped them out so they bounced all over!
Today was a good nap day and a good eating day. I'm catching up from when I didn't feel so good. I like feeling better!
When Daddy got home we went for a walk. I wore a jacket that Mommy bought me at a garage sale. It's a little bit chilly at night now. I rode in my jogger and pointed and babbled. I had my puppy book with me and read that out loud. And then I saw a real puppy! One of our neighbors has a new little terrier. He licked my fingers! I was so excited.
Now Dad and I are playing in the living room. I'm sitting on his tummy reading my book. He doesn't mind. Dads make good perches! I'll see how many toys I can strew around before bedtime. How much fun!

All better!

I'm feeling much better! I was not feeling so well for a couple days. I was sneezy and just wanted to rest. Mommy and I cuddled a lot. I got lots of Tylenol! But today I was back to myself, running around and playing. See me with my yummy dinner of cheese and strawberries? I ate lots today.
I've been busy learning to do so many things. Today I went to visit Great Grandma and showed her how I brush my hair and read my books. She has pictures of all my cousins. I have another new one! Mom's cousins Liza and Tim had a boy named Grady on Monday. He is Buckrey's brother. I hope I won't scare him when we play!
After that visit we went to see Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa wasn't feeling so well this weekend either. He had to go to the hospital! But he is feeling much better. I had fun playing with him. I like the toy farm animals at their house. I got to see Uncle Rich, too! He was napping so I covered him with my blanket. Everyone needs a blankie to sleep, don't they? I was a very hungry baby and whenever I saw food I spit my pipe and smacked my mouth. It makes Grandma laugh and then she gives me puffs.
I had to go home to take my afternoon nap. After nap I played with Dad and then we went to get a few things from the grocery store. It started raining so hard on our way home! I watched the bright lightning while I ate my dinner.
Now I'm all finished with my bath and I'm trying to settle into my bed. I'm a little unhappy but Daddy is doing his best to make it better. I'll get comfy soon. Good night!

Beater Licker!

Yes, I did! I licked my first beater today. Mommy made whipped cream for angel food cake. And she let me taste! I like it. I whined when it was all gone and in the dishwasher. See my creamy face?
I had a good day today. It was warm and sunny and I was a happy baby. In the morning Parker came over to play. He was not quite himself but he did smile when I read "Bugs on the Move" to him. We both took good naps so Mommy got some house stuff done.
After my nap and lunch we took a walk in the sun. I took a very short afternoon nap and then I was up and around again. I like walking around and giggling.
At night we had people over for dinner! I met Michelle who will take care of me on some days Mommy works. I smiled and was very cute. But I was so tired! I got fussy so Mommy put me to bed right after my dinner was done. Now I'm snoozing away.

Happy Birthday, Aunt Ellen!

It's been an eventful couple of days! Yesterday Andrew was baptized. We all went to his church to see. I stayed in the nursery and played with Ally and the other kids. Then after church we all went to Ally and Andrew's house for cookies. I begged and got a couple little bits. There were so many people there! I toddled around and said hi to everyone. Andrew was very good and looked very nice in his little suit.
Today I got to see Ally again! I was so excited that I said "Ally"! She is one of my first words. Uncle Nate heard it first and wasn't sure he heard right but later I said it again when I was trying to jump in the bath with Ally.
We were all at Grandma's house because it is Aunt Ellen's birthday. She is 25! Happy birthday, Aunty El! We stayed until I was just so sleepy I needed to go home to my bed. I'm all tucked in now, fed and Tylenoled. I'm getting some teeth and it makes me drooly, poopy and a little crabby when I'm tired. But I still sleep OK. Good night, everyone!

Home again

How nice it was to sleep in my own warm crib! I snuggled right in. I did wake up because I fell to sleep before my bedtime snack and I was thirsty. But I went right back to sleep after that.
When I woke up I was a little crabby but Daddy cheered me up. We let Mommy sleep in. I ate a big breakfast and then we read stories and watched a little Sesame Street. Mommy and Daddy don't let me watch TV much but I giggle so much when I see Elmo and Ernie that they give in for a few minutes.
Mommy went shopping with Grandma this morning. She got some shoes and I got a snow suit. I'll wear it when Daddy teaches me to make snowmen! He can't wait to show me how. I had fun visiting Grandma and Grandpa. I like to run around in the porch and push the doll stroller.
When we got home it was dinner time. I ate lots - sweet potatoes and cut up melon. It was a good and juicy melon and I had fun munching it! I was a little messy but that was OK because it was time for a bath! I love my baths. I like to splash and play with my ducks and frogs. I like when Mommy wraps me all up in a warm towel and uses my nighttime lotion to make me smell pretty and keep my skin soft. Mommy zipped me into my new sleeper with feet! I can run around in it without sliding around. I snuggled with Mommy and then with Daddy until I was so sleepy I was ready for my bed. Now I'm snoozing!

We went to Pictured Rocks!

We're back! We went way up north for vacation. We went to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. See me posing by the sign? It was down the road from our pretty campsite at Twelve Mile Beach.
We left Tuesday after Daddy got home from work. All our stuff was in the car! I rode across the Mackinac Bridge for the first time! I was asleep the whole time. We stayed in Newberry, MI for the night.
We got up early in the morning and headed for our campsite. It was cold! But we were bundled warm. I helped Daddy set up the tent and wandered around looking at things. There were picnic tables and pine trees! I checked them all out. After that we went to Grand Marais to get some groceries and then made a picnic lunch at Sable Falls. I ate some of Mommy's cheese! Then I went on my first trail! We walked down to see the falls. I liked them! I pointed and squealed. Then I noticed the pine trees that were all around. I liked touching the needles.
We still had some day left so we went to see the Log Slide. This is where loggers used to slide big trees down the dunes to big ships. It was very steep! They would ice it up in winter so the logs would go faster! When we finished looking we hiked out to AuSable point to see the AuSable Lighthouse. I rode in my backpack and Daddy carried me! It was fun. I squealed, grinned and pointed. When we got to the lighthouse I walked around the porch and looked out at Lake Superior. I fell asleep on the hike back to the car.
Then we headed back to camp for dinner. After dinner the sun came out for just a while. We took a walk and then sat on the dune above the lake and watched the sun set. It was really cold that night but I was bundled in many layers and slept in between Mommy and Daddy in their sleeping bags. Daddy said I was a pink puffball! I slept pretty well and woke up happy. I like playing on the air mattress!
On Thursday we started the day by driving to Munising and the visitors center. I got my National Park Passport book and my very first stamp! I will get a stamp for every park I visit. This was my very first! The ranger was very excited for me. I waved and smiled to her. But she had bad news about the weather! We decided that this would be our last day hiking because it was going to thunderstorm and get windier and colder at night. But the day was very nice and sunny! First we went to Miner's Castle. I liked walking around on the boardwalk there! I talked to many nice people and showed how I point and squeal. I get so excited when I see water! We talked to one man who was backpacking the whole Lakeshore Trail. He was changing into warmer, drier socks! We hiked just parts of the trail. Daddy says we will backpack that trail when I am big enough. Mom and Dad said that Grandma Z would really like the picnic area and scenic trail there. It was so pretty and relaxing!
After Miner's Castle we drove to the Chapel Falls trailhead. Mommy and Daddy ate their lunch while I finished my nap. Mom forgot to take the paper off her cheese and had a chewy sandwich! Daddy thinks she is so silly. She says it is just some extra fiber. When I woke up I got into my pack and off we went! We walked to Chapel Falls where Daddy took pictures and I had my lunch. It was such a pretty place! From the falls we walked to Chapel Rock and Chapel Beach. The rock is part of the pretty cliffs of Pictured Rocks. I really liked beach! While Daddy took pictures Mommy and I played. I found sticks and waved them around. I toddled all over. I saw the lake and made a beeline! Mommy told me that Lake Superior in September is not nice and warm like Lake Michigan in August. I'm not so sure, but I won't know because Mommy wouldn't let me in the water. I made sand piles and dug little holes. I played so hard that I fell asleep on the hike back this day, too!
We packed up our camp after the hike and drove to Mackinac City for the night. I slept so well after my busy day. We heard thunder in the early morning and were so glad we weren't in a tent!
It was cold this morning but Mom bundled me up in my purple sweater and we went for a walk along the beach by the bridge. We saw the bridge and the lighthouse. Daddy took lots of pictures. I walked around by the rocks and played with little stones. I fell asleep at the end of the walk and we loaded up to drive home. It was a long drive but now we are home and sorting out all our stuff. I patted Ozzy and ate my dinner. I'm in bed already because I was so tired!
What a fun vacation! I hope we do something like this again soon. I hope you enjoyed my story! I enjoyed my trip!

Happy Monday!

It's Monday and that means I had some sleep to catch up on. Sunday was very busy for me. I had fun but my naps were short. I went to Grandma's house and saw all the aunts and cousins. I have a new second cousin, Troy Daniel. Mommy's cousins David and Jen are his mom and dad. There are getting to be more and more kids I can play with someday!
I slept when I could and ate lots for Daddy. We had fun together! See Daddy reading my story to me tonight? I like Mother Goose rhymes. I like bouncing to music, too! Daddy put swing music on and I did my silly baby dances to it.
Today I took good naps and was so happy for Mommy. I had a good sleep at night and woke up a little sneezy and a little stinky! Mommy fixed me up right away so I could giggle and run around. It was cold today so I had to wear pants. I wore a sweater to go out! We went to see Grandpa while Daddy was at a deacon's meeting. We watched the Tigers! Mommy was gone shopping with Aunt Ellen. I could not stay awake long enough to wait for her. When we got home, Mommy changed me, fed me, cuddled me and stuck me in bed. I snuggled right in. I'll sleep well tonight!

Daddy swam/biked/ran fast!

Today I woke up really early to watch Daddy run in the Reeds Lake Triathlon. It starts at 7:30! Check out his time at the web site! He finished in 2:00:27. Good job Dad!
I had so much fun cheering. It was still dark when we got there so I was a little sleepy eyed to start. I woke up quick! I wanted out of my stroller so I could run towards the water. The man with the marker asked if I needed a number. Mommy said I have to wait a few years. We watched everyone jump in the water. They made lots of splashes! While we were watching we met Daddy's Aunt Gloria and Uncle Randy. Geoff was racing today, too. He ran faster than Dad did (1:45:26). Wow.
I was getting a little fussy and grabbing for water bottles so we found a nice spot in the shade to eat my breakfast. I ate two jars of oatmeal! When I was finished I sat in my stroller and Mom sat on the curb and we watched bikes and runners come around the corner. I waved and yelled! When I got bored Mommy gave me my puppy book to read.
When we saw Daddy ran past we went to meet him at the end. He shared his cereal bar with me. My eyes were getting heavy! Mom and Dad said hi to some people but I was asleep before we got to the car. I napped all the way home.
When I woke up we went downtown for lunch. Mommy and Daddy always get sandwiches and sit outside after Daddy runs. They let me have some crackers. We walked around a bit and stopped at the Peanut Store. When we got home we all took a nap!
After nap we played around until it was time to get ready for bed. I've had my bath and now I'm fussing around a little bit. Daddy will snuggle me and make me happy again and then it will be bedtime. What an exciting day!

Chasing Allison!

Look! Mommy is blogging for me for two days in a row. She is going to be better so that you all can know what it is I do all day.
Today I slept in a little after a good long nights sleep without one peep! We got all ready to go out and went to Grandma's house to go to garage sales with Aunt Ellen, Ally and Andrew. I got a bear and an outfit for next year. Andrew got some clothes and toys. Grandma bought a kid sized picnic table for me and Ally to eat by! We couldn't eat outside today because it was windy, humid and sometimes rainy.
We all hung out at Grandma's for a while. I tried so hard to keep up with Allison. See her reading my puppy book to me? I was not very happy when she ran away with it, but she brought it right back. We have fun together! We stayed until I had to go have my nap. I took a good one!
When Daddy got home I woke up for dinner. Then we went out to the beach to see the sun set. Mommy and Daddy took me out on the pier! There were big waves but Daddy didn't let any of them get me. We are home now and I am snuggled in!

Jazzy baby

See me watching a jazz concert with Daddy? He got a new toy. It's a TV. Our old TV went "poof" and we couldn't watch it anymore. I like jazz. I bounced up and down to the beat and waved my hands.
I'm still a busy baby! I'm doing very well with sleeping all night long and it gives me so much energy during the day! I walk all over putting my toys in silly places and chasing Ozzy. Mommy found toys in the toilet on Wednesday! They made such a nice splash. I didn't flush them even though I've learned how to do that. I pull the lever and laugh. It makes a swishing sound!
Yesterday I went with Mommy and Daddy to Cascade Township Park while Daddy played disc golf. I swung on the swings, slid on the slide and watched so many dogs! One dog named Skippy licked my toes! His owner let me pet his ears. He was a spaniel and had long silky ears. Daddy was sad after the trip because someone stole his discs! He had set them down to rescue a disc from a tree. Mommy and I were off petting the doggie and when we all looked they were gone! He will get new ones but he is sad because Mommy and I gave him his bag for a present.
On the way home I fussed and cried so we stopped at Grandma and Grandpa's house to fix me up. Grandpa picked me up from the car and figured out what my trouble was. A big huge stinky pants! We stayed and watched the Tigers for a while.
Today I slept in a while so I could store up energy for the day. I walked all over, played outside and read books to myself. I ate lots and lots! I tried broccoli today. I liked it and begged Mommy for more during dinner. I eat my food from jars for dinner and then bits of whatever Mom and Dad are eating. I like my bits the best! I chew pretty well for only having two teeth.
I just finished my bath and nighttime snack and I'm snuggling in my crib. Mommy has heard a couple peeps but that is just my way of finding a comfy spot. Good night!

Day with Daddy!

Days with Daddy are so much fun! I started out by sleeping in. I was happy for Daddy and played and giggled. I chugged my bottles and ate my food. What a big girl!
We went to play disc golf in the afternoon. I can only hold my little disc. I watch Daddy play with the big ones. He wants you all to know that he got a hole in one on Thursday. Check out his score!
When Mommy got home I was watching football with Daddy. It's a new sport I have to learn about. People cheer just like for baseball but the players all wear big helmets. I like to cheer too. I clap my hands and say yaaaa!
Mommy let me chew her cookie a little bit before bed. I begged so hard! I only got a couple of gnaws before she took it back. I was to tired to argue much. It was bedtime! We did my bedtime stuff and now I'm settling into my crib. Good night!

Here I am!

Oh, I've been a busy baby. And I've been a little grumpy lately too. So Mommy got farther and farther behind on the blog...she apologizes.
So what has this big girl been doing? Learning to walk and talk and discover all kinds of things! See me standing with my pretty bows in my hair? I'm not sure I like them and I try to pull them out when I notice Mommy has snuck one in on me. Mommy tells me they are pretties that all girls need. I'll think about it.
I was very good to Mommy last night and slept all night long without a peep! We were both feeling very chipper in the morning. We had a great day!
It's been nice weather here and I was so glad to go outside today. I've been a little fussy for the last few days but by this afternoon happy baby was back! We walked to garage sales and I pointed at all the dogs and said "doggie". I bounced up and down in my stroller and waved at cars. I got two new books! Mother Goose and Touch and Feel Puppies. I like to pet the puppy's fuzzy tummy!
Daddy came home early from work and was there when I woke up from afternoon nap. I was giggly! We went out for dinner to the Crazy Horse Steakhouse. Mom shared her mashed sweet potatoes with me and Dad gave me some crackers to munch. I chugged on my sippy, too. My chugging makes Daddy laugh.
After dinner we went to the beach. We sat by the channel and watched the big boats go in and out. I waved to them! It was a little chilly and I had to wear my purple sweatshirt. Daddy says it makes me look like such a big girl!
When we got home I was ready for my bedtime routine. Mommy has tucked me in and hopes I will sleep like a big girl again tonight!

Playful day

I had a playful day today! I crawled and toddled around the house checking things out from morning to night. See how I got myself in the basket? Mommy thought I was being a very silly girl.
It was hot today and sometimes rainy. We went out in the yard for just a little while this afternoon. I waved at cars! The ice cream truck drove by with it's music playing. I was fascinated.
Today Mommy and Daddy got new sleeping bags. They are nice and will keep us warm when we camp. I liked the boxes. It's fun to climb in them!
Right now I'm having a little playtime before bed. I ate a big dinner and made a stinky diaper. Mommy and I are both a little stuffed up so she set up my Vicks vaporizer in my room. It helps my nighttime cough. Aunt Ellen told Mommy that it helped Ally so I hope it works just as well for me! I think I'll sleep well tonight so I can play all day tomorrow!

Trip to the fair!

Guess what I did today! I went to the Hudsonville Fair! Grandma and Grandpa took me. Allison and Andrew came too! We all had fun. I petted a bunny and waved to goats! I saw pig and cows. Mom's cousin Arend had cows to show at the fair. We said hi. A pig snorted at Ally and scared her. Pigs are big! They are not cute like the pigs in MooBaa. I had fun pointing at everything and seeing the lights on the rides. Grandpa says we'll go again next year! I can't wait.
I had a very good day today. Mommy worked so I went to Grandma's house all day long. She says that Ally and I tore around all over the house. I got all my toys out of the toy box!
At night it rained hard. We sat on Grandma's front porch and watched the lightning until the wind and rain came. Mom and I couldn't leave until it was done storming. Grandpa's neighbors tree lost a big branch! After it was quiet Mom loaded me up and we headed home. I waved bye bye to everyone!
I was very dreamy eyed when we got home but Mom had to wake me a little to change me. Halfway home she smelled a stinky one! I got all changed and into my Pooh pjs. Now I'm peeping a little while I settle in. Good night!

A napping day

See me getting ready for my nap? I need a good supply of pipes. I bring them downstairs in the morning and scatter them around. I found them all before Mommy cuddled me up for morning nap.
I took good naps today. I started the morning with a sneezy nose. I feel better now, but I was a little uncomfortable last night. Mommy gave me Tylenol and I spit it right back at her!
I had a good play day anyway. I pointed and talked to my animals and chased Ozzy. I like to point at the animals Grandpa brought me from Africa. The elephant family is my favorite. I should put a picture of my zoo up sometime.
I was hungry today so I ate all my food up and begged for Mommy's too! It was a little cold and damp during the day so I didn't get to go outside until my walk!
I got to walk with Parker tonight! I haven't seen him all summer. He was in Wisconsin with his Mom and Dad. They are back home now so we could walk again. We had fun watching each other and showing off our new tricks. He can roll over now and likes to sit in the exersaucer. He had his first bowl of cereal today! Now he knows how good that stuff is. I prefer the rice with mixed fruit. Daddy fed me a huge bowl of it in the morning. Dad says it looks like wallpaper paste but he really doesn't know what he's missing.
I went to bed very nicely for Mommy tonight. I like being clean and in my pjs. Tomorrow I'll go see Grandma! I like going to her house. It's nice to visit people who love me! I bet I'll be silly all day long.
