Science Night!

What a fun Saturday I had! I got up with Dad and read stacks and stacks of books. We let Mom sleep in until she wanted to get up. Dad fed me my big breakfast and we had fun!
I am still a little sneezy and fussy sometimes. I just keep sneezing up slimy stuff. I needed cuddles when I was feeling congested. I took a good nap and was pretty happy for the afternoon. I helped Mom and Dad rake up the rest of the leaves. There are still a whole lot of them on the trees, though! I like running around in leaves. Do you think that snow will be just as much fun?
After all that fun we went to Science Night! This is when Daddy's engineer friends all get together and make "experiments". Daddy build a trebuchet (a medieval military catapult) that flung tennis balls. All the kids thought that was the coolest toy. The picture shows Daddy with his potato gun. He made it a couple science nights ago. We went down by Lake Macatawa to shoot it off. Mom and Dad's friends Emil and Sarah live near there and Science Night was at their house. We contacted a satellite, made strobe lights and lasers move to music, made spinning lasers, made hydrogen and oxygen by electrolysis, fried sparkly things in a microwave, let off a baking soda volcano, looked at things under black lights and fog and of course, we made a pickle glow. Glowing pickle was the main attraction at the very first Science Night.
I had lots of fun. You can see that there was lots to see. There were other babies there to talk to and play with. Our Moms thought that we should get a certificate that said "Baby's First Science Night." Do you think that our Dads want us to grow up to be engineers? The baking soda volcano was a project from some of the kids. Their Dad was proud!
When I got home I was all wound up! I had a fun bath with my frogs and boats. I splashed and giggled. I know how to point to my ears and my tummy and my toes. I scrub my own face with the washcloth. I'm learning to do so much by myself! I used my own spoon to eat my applesauce today and wouldn't let Mom help at all.
After bath we read some more books and got all ready for bed. I was all snuggled in when Mom heard a big toot from upstairs. It was a big stinky! I stayed up for a while after Mom cleaned me up but soon I was just to tired. Now I'm snoozing and Dad says I get one extra hour of sleep tonight. Ha ha...I think that I'll just wake up earlier. Good night!
